In 2018, aged just 15, Tom's brother Joe had the brilliant idea to create a Google map showing where our local defibs are.
The thought was prompted by us not knowing if a defib had been used on Tom: "Is there a defib there?" we asked, followed by "where's our nearest one?" and Joe's "there ought to be a map showing where they are". He asked around, including the health service, but couldn't find one that was publicly accessible, so he created one.
Word spread about the map and there are now over 1200 on it.
Check it out by clicking the images above and find yours.
If you know of one that's not listed, contact him via the defibmap website or use the apps and let him know.
The map is available as an app on iTunes and Android.
