How to do CPR

Would you know what to do if someone you knew experienced a cardiac emergency?

If you believe someone is having a heart attack, put your phone on speaker and call 999 immediately.

Once you’re through to them, the operator will ask you questions and give you instructions based on the answers you give.

If you’re on your own, don’t go to look for a defib as you’ll need to perform CPR, so please send someone else to get one – the operator will tell you the location of the nearest, if it is within a certain distance (the time taken to get it is the deciding factor).

Anyone can use a defibrillator as they are automated and most give audible instructions when they are opened.
